We weren't always living organised lives in minimalist homes...

Kirsty often shares how she used to be a red hot mess, disorganised, procrastinator and when she was single, boy was her bedroom untidy! It was through watching her husband Simon (who is super organised) that she became motivated and started tidying up. But it wasn’t until she developed decluttering habits that she became intentionally organised and passionate about showing others that they too can go from chaotic to calm in their lives.

Amy has always been pretty organised. What was overwhelming was trying to maintain and keep organised things that were actually just unnecessary clutter: childhood collections, kids toys, books, even excess furniture… it was all kept and organised ‘just in case’ she needed it one day. When she discovered the concept of minimalism she was motivated to clear the clutter and stop the constant tidying up. As she worked on her mindset about her possessions she gained freedom. Less stuff to organise means more time for the important things in life.

We understand where you are (we’ve been there ourselves and we’ve helped hundreds of others just like you) and we’re here, coming alongside you to show you how to break the cycle of clutter in your life and home.

Our Story

Kirsty & Amy have been friends since they were teenagers and they met through their church youth group.

Independently they both became Professional Organisers once they had children and in 2017 Kirsty rang Amy and suggested they start a podcast together… a few weeks later The Art of Decluttering podcast was born. Little did they know how much people would resonate with their message of freedom and grace through decluttering, organising and intentional living.

For 2 years they ran 3 businesses between them and in 2019 they made the exciting decision to declutter two of those businesses and bring everything in under The Art of Decluttering.

Biz besties, BFF’s, total opposites and yet always got each others back… that’s the team behind The Art of Decluttering.

We equip and serve others through

  • Our podcast (The Art of Decluttering)
  • Decluttering sessions
  • Online courses
  • Live events
