Object Permanence
Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget developed Object Permanence theory. Object permanence, put simply, is the ability to understand that an object continues to exist, even though it can no longer be seen, heard or touched.
Think of it like out of sight, out of mind. When you forget something because you can no longer see it… like the glasses on top of your head, the phone you put down on the bench, or the gifts you bought for the kids and forgot about because you hid them in the top of the wardrobe.
Today explore how being conscious of Object Permanence can help you with decluttering, and how you can organise your home to capitalise on either your lack of object permanence or your strong object permanence.
Understanding our relationship with our stuff and how our minds work can bring such freedom from clutter!
